Head Athletic Trainer
Kevin Harmon, 53, is in his 14th year with the Texas Rangers organization and his third as head athletic trainer. Harmon’s career started with the Atlanta Class-A Sumter Braves (1986-1987) and then the Atlanta Class-A Durham Bulls (1988-1990). In 1991 he was a Clinical and Outreach Athletic Trainer in Ypsilanti, Mich., then moved to the Baltimore Orioles Class AA Hagerstown Suns in 1992, followed by a four year stay (1993-1996) with the Baltimore Orioles Class AAA Rochester Red Wings, and then in 1997 was the Minor League Coordinator for the Baltimore Orioles. From 1998-2000 Harmon was S&C Coordinator for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and in 2001 was their Minor League S&C Coordinator. He was Minor League Medical and Strength Coordinator from 2003-2004 for the Texas Rangers and was promoted to major league assistant athletic trainer in 2005. Born in Battle Creek, Mich., Harmon now resides in Mansfield, TX with his wife Melony. They have 2 children, Madison and Gage.
